Sailing San Francisco Bay
Sailboat Charter on San Francisco Bay
Sailing. That’s what we do.
Well, more specifically, we sail the width and bredth of San Francisco Bay as well as under the Golden Gate Bridge and the Gulf of the Farallones.
From the SF city front, to all three major bridges in the central bay, to Sausalito, to Point Bonita we can show you all the Bay has to offer both historically and environmentally. We regularly see whales, sea lions, harbor porpoise, and many different types of birds. You’ll learn a bit of local maritime history and enjoy a hearty lunch and your favorite beverages.
Sail Taihoa
Sail Away with Us On the Beautiful San Francisco Bay- Redefining The San Francisco Bay Sailing Experience
Sailing San Francisco Bay Aboard the Classic Yacht, Taihoa
Let me tell you about our trusty vessel, Taihoa. She’s not just any sailboat San Francisco Bay has seen; she’s a classic beauty built back in the 1940s in Christchurch, New Zealand. Crafted from unique tropical hardwoods that are as rare as a mermaid’s tear, the Tahiti ketch was designed specifically for crossing oceans.
Her original owner built her by hand, and we’ve got the photos to prove it. Before we even leave the dock, Captain doug will regale you with the tale of how Taihoa came to be. This will make you feel like you’re part of a grand maritime tradition, sailing aboard a vessel that’s got stories in her timbers.
Did we ever tell you about the time Taihoa got a speeding ticket? Yeah, the officer said she was "knot"ty!
Setting Sail on San Francisco Bay
Once we set sail, you’ll quickly see why San Francisco Bay sailing is like no other body of water. With the wind in your hair and the smell of the ocean breeze, you’ll feel the true freedom of the open water. Taihoa can take you anywhere your heart desires, from the iconic Golden Gate Bridge to the mysterious Alcatraz Island. Every trip is an adventure, and every wave brings a new story. And let’s not forget the marine life! Keep your eyes peeled for harbor porpoise, harbor seals, and the occasional whale. They love to make an appearance, just to remind us who really owns the seas.
